The Shelby Star is reporting that shooting is now over in Shelby and is moving elsewhere -
Less than two weeks after turning the P&M Warehouse into a futuristic coal town and attracting worldwide attention to the City of Pleasant Living, the cast and crew of ‘The Hunger Games’ appear to be on their way to the next filming location.
Lafayette Street, between West Marion and Sumter streets, was shut down Saturday for filming. An off-duty police officer working as security for the film indicated it was the last day of filming in Shelby and that scenes were being shot inside one of the buildings.
RVs and tractor-trailers were parked on both sides of the road. What few pedestrians were out at 4 p.m. were instructed to walk only on the east side of the street.
You can read the whole article here.
The article goes on to speculate that filming will now begin in DuPont State Forest or Asheville but nothing is yet confirmed.

Hunger Games Casting News - Tim Taylor Cast As 'Gamekeeper'
Geektyrant have posted an exclusive report stating that Tim Taylor has been cast as a 'Gamekeeper' in The Hunger Games -
The Hunger Games casting continues with the addition of Tim Taylor (Possum Walk, Archaic Redemption), who joins the already incredibly huge cast as the Gamekeeper in the story. The Gamekeeper is described as the computer techs that control the action during the games.
As we all know, The Hunger Games is set from Katniss's point of view and we never know what is going on unless Katniss knows. This could be our first clue that Lionsgate are going to give us a sneak peak of things outside of Katniss's reach, by maybe switching to a shot of the control room for the games as they unleash one horror or another into the arena.
Thoughts?

Hunger Games Script News - A Message From Suzanne Collins
The wonderful Suzanne Collins recently reached out to fans of her blockbuster series with a message about the script writing process for The Hunger Games. I for one am extremely excited about Suzanne being so closely involved in the creative process as it means that we will hopefully end up with a really authentic movie franchise. Here is what Suzanne had to say to us -
Now that the filming of The Hunger Games has begun, I've been getting a lot of questions about the script, so I thought I might share a little of my experience with you. Back in early 2010, Color Force and Lionsgate began the process of adapting the book to the screen and I wrote the first draft of the script. After that, we brought on veteran screenwriter Billy Ray to further develop the piece. Not only has he written and directed excellent films like Shattered Glass and Breach, he was a complete pleasure to work with. Amazingly talented, collaborative, and always respectful of the book. His adaptation further explored the world of Panem and its inhabitants. As though I wasn't lucky enough, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Gary Ross, known for his wonderful works such as Seabiscuit and Pleasantville, came on board. As part of his creative process, he wrote a subsequent draft which incorporated his incredible directorial vision of the film. And then he very generously invited me in to work with him on it. We had an immediate and exhilarating creative connection that brought the script to the first day of shooting. Of course, the piece will naturally continue to evolve through the filming, as the actors bring the characters to life, as the entire crew brings their significant talents to the piece, as the editors work with Gary to best realize his vision. The final draft will be on the screen next March.
So that's been the script process, and as an author, I'm truly grateful for the journey.
May the odds be ever in your favor!

Hunger Games Movie News - Three Books To Be Four Movies?
Deadline.com is reporting that the Hunger Games Franchise is going to be split into four movies - Lionsgate executives told Wall Street analysts this morning to expect big things from The Hunger Games, a series of four action films that the studio will release from the trilogy written by Suzanne Collins. COO Joe Drake said it was "the highest-selling film we've ever had" at the Cannes Film Festival and that overseas exhibitors consider it "the movie that can change their company."
I'm all for having more movies to look forward to, but it does concern me that one of the books is going to be split in half. What are your thoughts on there being four films rather than three?
